Dave Howell is Nexus Publishing.
I have been working as a freelance writer, journalist, and publisher for the last 35 years. I specialise in technology and business subjects.
My work has appeared in the national press and many of the leading technology and business magazines. Most of my work is for trade magazines in a number of sectors. I am able to look at a new subject, understand its key elements, and then write engaging copy for the audience of the magazine or website I am writing for.
As a content producer, I understand the power that a well-crafted piece of content can have for a business. Having produced everything from blog posts to extensive reports, I can create any kind of content to help a business reach its customers.
I’m also a content strategist. If your business needs to create content but needs help getting started, or needs to expand its existing content, I can help you create a strategy that will result in world-class content that will speak and engage with your audience.
During my career, I have written for both the B2B and B2C markets. You can be sure of a professional service. I can take a brief and turn this into a feature, case study, product or service review that is aimed specifically at your clients’ readership.
My current clients come back to me constantly as they can rely on me to hit deadlines, deliver additional assets and ensure that their job as an editor is as easy and efficient as possible.
I've always created content, even before we had content strategists. I started writing back in 1984. Over the years, I've called myself a writer, journalist, copywriter, and broadcaster. However, these days I define myself as a content strategist as I create such a diverse range of content for my clients.
I've been a tech journalist since the days of dial-up modems. For me, tech has always been a fascination. How shiny new stuff works attracts me. So I became a tech journalist as the first review I wrote back in the mid-80s I sold to a computer magazine. Since then, I've tracked how tech has evolved to change the very society we live in.
Businesses often ask me to explain their technology to specific audiences. This could be consumers or technically literate readers who want to understand what the tech can do for them.
In addition, running my own business for the last 35 years has taught me various skills, from budgeting to time and resource management. I've watched as freelancing has moved out of the shadows to become an aspiration for many.
Today my work is varied but still focuses on crafting content for a clearly defined audience.
