My name is Dave, and for most of my working life, I have been in either the motor industry, transport, or public transport. Upon leaving school, I joined the Army's Junior Leader program, serving for just under eight years before leaving for a new career in the motor industry as a research engineer. I spent the next 5 years travelling all over Europe and North America with Ford Motor Company.
I went on to do various haulage jobs before moving to the Midlands, where I worked as a CNC operator for Cosworth. When the factory shut down, I went back to driving HGV for various companies before returning to the motor industry as a roadside breakdown and recovery driver. I moved back to London in 2008 so that I could look after my parents, who at that time were both terminally ill.
I followed my father's footsteps and became a bus driver before being promoted to service supervisor. I was made redundant in July and have had a few months off to recharge, and now looking for work again at the tender age of 59. I gained my UAV pilot's licence a few years ago so that I could film content for YouTube as a hobby.
