I am an enthusiastic individual who has over 5 years' experience working in hospitality within a kitchen environment. I have a good understanding of food hygiene, allergens and also health and safety in the workplace, which allows me to ensure compliance with current food safety regulations. I am looking to build on my previous experience and feel that I am work well under pressure in a busy environment and am able to follow instructions and work to deadlines.

I am not afraid of taking on new things and but am also happy to work on tasks on my own or as part of a team.

Volunteer Events Assistant - Major 1 ESPORTS - NEC

(2025-01 - 2025-12)

As part of this volunteering, I was part of the team who was responsible for setting up the event to ensure it was a success and everything was in place ready to start.

• Worked as part of a team moving and setting up areas for the gaming to take place
• Responsible for helping to set up the stage ready for the Egames event, which included setting up the sets and stages, moving poles and items and curtains
• Helped with setting up the security areas
• Helped to fill bags of items given away to the players which included sponsored merchandising items such as caps, water bottles and other items which I packed into goodie bags
• Helped with moving and arranging furniture for the events including tables, chairs and TVs

Kitchen Porter - Premier Inn

(2014-08 - 2019-10)

Whilst working at the Premier inn my main duties were working as part of the kitchen team and a kitchen porter. I worked as a pot washer and part of my role was to help with ensuring the kitchen was able to keep running whilst ensuring the environment was clean and safe.

• Responsible for ensuring that the pots, pans and kitchen utensils were cleaned and dried ready for the chefs to use
• Responsible for washing the plates, cutlery and bowls which the guests used ensuring there was always a clean supply ready for use
• Ensured that sharp knives were washed and stored separately for health and safety
• Loaded and unloaded the dishwasher and assisted with emptying the grease trap when required
• Helped with receiving deliveries and once checked helped with transferring items to the appropriate places, ensuring items were stored in appropriate locations
• Broke down cardboard and boxes and disposed of them accordingly, including completing recycling
• Gained experience with preparing menu items and often helped out the chefs with preparing desserts and pizza

Volunteer Retail Assistant - British Heart Foundation

(2012-10 - 2013-10)

I volunteered at The British Heart Foundation and gained experience and developed my retail skills.

• Carried out stock rotation, to ensure the shop remains fresh and appealing for regular customers and also taking into account the varying seasons
• Helped with pricing and labelling the stock
• Worked on the shop floor helping to remove any debris from walkways and creating a welcoming environment
• Worked in the back and helped with grading the items to ensure they were suitable for sale and steamed them ready for sale

Grocery Assistant - Morisons

(2012-04 - 2012-05)

Whilst at Morisons I worked as a grocery assistant where I gained experience on the shop floor and also in the warehouse of a store.

• Worked with the fresh produce, once it was delivered, was responsible for loading the cages and carts with the produce to take to the shop floor ready for sale, which included using the stockroom lift
• Responsible for replenishing the items which were for sale
• Helped with questions and queries from customers, including helping them locate items
• Ensured that health and safety was followed
• Used the compactor to compress the cardboard

Pre-apprenticeship placement - Remploy Automotive

(2012-02 - 2012-03)

Whilst at Remploy I completed a pre-apprenticeship placement where I chose to complete this as an Automotive assembly operative.

• Responsible for manufacturing Land Rover parts
• Worked as part of a team to work to meet tight deadlines and targets
• Worked using hand and air tools to assemble the items required which were then picked and packed according to the company's requirements

Retail Assistant - Poundland

(2010-01 - 2011-09)

Whilst working as a Retail Assistant at Poundland I worked on the shop floor and also in the warehouse.

• Gained experience in loading and unloading deliveries
• Used stock cages to assist with moving the items
• Ensured that the fridges were restocked when items sold
• Ensured that the stock rooms and shop floors were always kept tidy to minimise trip hazards
• Helped with customer queries or questions whilst on the stock floor

School work experience placement - Wilkinsons

(2009-01 - 2009-12)

I gained a work experience placement whilst at school and this was four weeks.

• Helped with labelling and pricing goods
• Stacking and replenishing stock which included loading goods into stock cages to be distributed on the stock floor
• Helped with bagging shopping for customers which they had purchased
