Deacon Lycett

My name is Deacon and currently I am an A Level student in year 12 at Chapeltown Academy. I am seeking part time employment with hours that are flexible around my college timetable. I am a very independent person and I am ready to start earning my own income to fund my hobbies and activities without having to rely on my parents.

I also feel that starting work now will give me a better understanding of the working environment and set me up for my future of hopefully taking on an apprenticeship after I finish my A-Levels.

PE Assistant & Afterschool Football Club Coordinator at E-Act Pathways Academy Sheffield (2024-01 – 2024-06)

Work experience whilst in Year 10 at secondary school at a primary school involving assisting the PE teacher. This lead on to being offered a position at the school helping to run an afterschool football club for around 6 months. Came prepared with lesson plans and training ideas and received very good feedback from the children and boss Thomas Froggatt, Head PE teacher. Position finished due to the start of GCSEs.

Labouring Assistant at W Lycett Painting and Decorating (2025-06 – 2025-09)

Part time work during the summer of 2025 after leaving school with grandad as and when needed. Working hours were 7am to 3pm. Role involved helping to prepare the environment for decorating, clearing up during and after work was completed and anything else asked to do. Developed strong communication skills, learning how to chat and listen to clients and discuss their preferences. Despite being a beginner, was not afraid of a challenge and put full effort into tasks assigned.

Work Experience Placement at WCG Environmental (2026-06 – 2026-07)

Year 12 work experience at the end of June going into July 2026 in a professional office environment. Gained valuable experience assisting with filing and organising documents, as well as reviewing risk assessments and method statements. Engaged with colleagues, learning about the company's operations through professional discussions and observations.
