Responsible for setting a Conical Parallel Twin Screw Extruder, which primarily ran main frame window systems on Greiner tools and tanks, producing UPVC windows and doors. Responsible for ensuring the quality of the products – squareness, flatness, wall thickness, ID, OD and colour match. This is achieved through the use of numerous measurement tools, which includes a dial caliper vernier, micrometer, overlay shadow and dial indicator.
I ensure that the completion of all production paperwork including ISO compliance is to the highest standard. During my employment I have gained experience of both the 5S and Kaizen manufacturing strategies, whilst in the pursuit of constant improvement and greater efficiency. I also had the opportunity to be part of a business wide team that brought together tool technicians and members of the Research and Development department, in the implementation of a key change in the production process.
This was when Duraflex led the UK plastics industry in the implementation of the change from lead stabilized powder blends to calcium zinc powder blends.

I started as an operator packing extruded plastic profiles, progressed to the position of Extrusion Machine Setter and finally as a Team Supervisor. I gained experience of operating single screw extrusion lines and in-line hot foil presses. The production processes used single strand dyes, duplex and triplex co-extrusion dyes.
I also gained experience in calibrating and setting several different proportional dosing units including Colortronic Summit and Colormax systems. Reddiplex used a variety of materials within their production process, I was therefore, able to obtain experience of using a variety of materials such as Polycarbonate, ABS, Polypropylene, Polyurethane, HIPS, GPPS, LLDPE, HDPE, PVC-U, TPE, TPR, Crystal and Neoprene. I used the experience I gained of various machines, manufacturing techniques and materials to gain a promotion to Team Supervisor.
My supervisory responsibilities were to motivate the team and ensure the efficient running of multiple manufacturing machines whilst ensuring that the Company's Health and Safety doctrine was understood and followed.
