I am ACCA exam-qualified and expect to become a fully qualified Chartered Accountant within the next two months. My interest in finance was consolidated during university, where I graduated with a First-Class degree in accounting. This qualification gave me a good platform to use my knowledge at my first role at Vets4Pets.

I currently work for Intergraph UK as the accountant for the Benelux, Belgium, and Luxembourg entities. This role has given me an extensive understanding of the importance of accruals, prepayments and allocation of costs in management reporting. I am interested in moving towards an FP&A role to understand a more strategic side of accounting.

• Preparing monthly management packs for Intergraph Benelux, Belgium and Luxembourg which details out the services, lease and maintenance revenue and explaining the month-on-month revenue movement as well as preparing an OPEX review to understand the costs variances both to prior month and current forecast for the Benelux entities.
• Reporting this on working day 4 directly to the Finance Director and Controller of Northwest Europe.
• Reviewing and reconciling intercompany differences. Liaising with multiple global entities across time zones to ensure all items are resolved prior to the working day 5 cut-off.
• Regular review of the creditor balances, ensuring that timely communications are being sent and where escalations are required, providing information to the finance manager to initiate appropriate legal action where contractual payment terms are not being adhered to.
• Preparing a bad debt provision during month for customers who have past 90-day payments terms and providing 100% provision for those customers who have gone under administration.
• Approving employee expenses and rejecting any expenses that do not meet the company policy. Processing invoices against the correct approval/PO and then allocating the costs to the correct code and cost center.
• Managing the fixed asset register, ensuring that new assets are added to the inventory list and all assets are depreciated correctly each month. Reconciling the fixed asset spreadsheet to the inventory list and the general ledger accounts.
• Recently, I capitalised the cost of the new Benelux office which included costs for construction, design, and furniture and ensuring that the cost aligned to the budgeted forecast.
• Assisting with the audit process and providing required information and reconciliations to ensure the audit can be completed successfully.
• Preparing the monthly VAT return, once approved submitting it on the Dutch authority's portal.
• Ensuring monthly balance sheet reviews are completed and validated along with all accompanying prepayments have adequate backing and accruals have been made so accurate management backing can be made from these numbers.

• Writing and updating process documents on how to create the weekly reports and how identify any variances between surgeries intake and intake recorded on the system with guidelines on how to escalate each type of variances.
• Training colleagues so that they are confident in undertaking their responsibilities.
• Allocating payments to surgeries using SAP and creating correction journals when payment is incorrectly allocated.
• Reconciling the takings and checking that the takings correctly against surgery expectations within set timescale.
• Preparing and uploading monthly journals onto SAP for month end.
