As a mature woman, my initial background was working within commercial industry in customer services and more recently, in a UK based charity, then moving into Health and Social Care for local government. Together, these roles have given me the opportunity to work with different age groups, people from a range of backgrounds and people with health conditions. I would describe myself as reliable, focused, adaptable and committed to the varied roles I have undertaken in my career.

Furthermore, I am proactive working within a team and have worked as a team leader. In my private life, I enjoy many different hobbies and I am active in improving my fitness. I am now looking for a role which offers me flexibility in which I can utilise my skills and knowledge.

Dementia Advisor - Harrow Carers

As a Dementia Support Advisor's my role was to provide Information and Support to Unpaid Carer givers supporting People living with Dementia. To support the the Dementia Team leader setting up and running Dementia Cafes across the Borough. Assisting the Team Leader in providing Training via a 6 week Programme for Caregivers to gain awareness in Dementia.

To assist People with Dementia and their caregivers in identifying their needs and providing information and guidance to help maintain their independence.

• Being the first point of contact in supporting Carergivers when they contacted Harrow Carers.
• Building relationships with a range of local contacts, networking with health and care professionals and providing dementia support.
• Liaising with statutory and community sector.
• Engage with other agencies and working to find unidentified carers.
• Assist the Dementia Team leader in managing the dementia cafes across the Borough.
• Communicate and encourage carers to participate in and contribute to group activities and maximise their use of existing services and resources in the area.
• To record clients' information in line with Harrow Carers' confidentiality policy and within the organisation's database
• To prepare reports, letters etc. to support the work of the Project
• To be able to work on my own initiative and report to the Dementia team leader where necessary.

Day Care Support Worker (Older Adults Health and Social Care) - Ealing Council - Michael Flanders Resource Centre

My role as a Day Care Support Worker was predominantly for supporting older adults with varying degrees of dementia and other health conditions, including physical disabilities. On a daily basis, I organised and ran group activities including physical exercise, arts and crafts, word related activities, gardening, reminiscence and many other activities.

• Working as an assigned key worker for individuals.
• By monitoring and supporting the specific needs of each individual including personal care, mobility support, medications, communication, anxieties, diet and well-being.
• Carrying out home assessments to create support plans with a person-centred care approach, to complete risk assessments and to coordinate with transport providers.
• Primarily supporting them in understanding and coping with the changing needs of their family member.
• Communicating and working alongside other social and health care professionals.
• Day-to-day I worked productively within a team environment, I attended daily handovers and participated in regular team meetings
• I also worked with safeguarding teams, psychologists, community psychiatric nurses and doctors.
• Additionally, I worked closely with social workers to monitor individuals' changing needs by performing six weekly and yearly reviews with individuals and their carers and communicating results to implement changes with social work teams.
• Engaging with other organisations, such as the National Citizenship Scheme and weekly visits from local schools, to raise awareness of Dementia. I would also work with representatives of charitable bodies such as Dementia Concern.
• Experience in organising large groups, participated in a Mentoring scheme and had successful mentor sessions with my mentee.
• Supporting colleagues, including trainee internship students, and younger adults, in working towards professional goals.
• Attending regular training to remain informed with current government regulations and requirements. I have setup and also participated in online Teams and Zoom meetings and training events.

Care Support Worker - Age UK Ealing

I worked in a small team providing care to approximately 25 service users.

• Arranging daily transport with transport providers, planning and ordering menus (according to individual dietary requirements), organising special events and day trips accommodating of individuals' physical limitations and organising daily group activities.
• Administrating income and expenditure of the day centre.
• To attend reviews carried out within the day centre or their homes, and to liaise with families and health professionals.
• Documentation of attendance sheets and individuals' requirements into a database and ensuring all files were maintained and up to date.

Full-Time Carer - Self-Employed

I became a full-time career for my elderly parents and carried out their daily personal care, managed their welfare, dealt with all the relevant health professionals, hospital appointments, mental health departments, social services and I also administered medications. Whilst looking after my mother, who suffered from early onset Alzheimer's, I learnt to appreciate varying degrees of changing behaviour. I became more aware of the overall effect and demands dementia has on an individual and their families, both physically and mentally.

In relation to this, I completed a six-week carer course with Dementia Concern Ealing and gained additional knowledge to assist me in dealing with my mother and her needs.

Sales Representative - Action Computer Supplies / Insight Direct UK

My role with Action Computer supplies was on a part-time basis within the inbound sales department receiving all incoming sales calls. I processed orders via the telephone, dealt with queries and answer technical questions. I liaised with other departments such as administration and accounts. After the birth of my daughter, I left Action for one year but returned to my role with inbound sales team and continued within this role.

I transferred to the administration department in which I processed all incoming communication and communicated with customers of any order delays, to clear all back orders due to outstanding stock and to deal with any administration queries.

Internal ISO Auditor - Action Computer Supplies / Insight Direct UK

With the purchase of purchase Action Computer Supplies by Insight Direct UK LTD, I was appointed as an internal ISO Auditor for ISO 9001 and I became involved in the coaching of other team members. This function involved auditing various departments, generating reports and overseeing any changes which had come to light during the audit.
