I hold a master’s degree in Infection and Immunity and currently work in a UKAS-accredited laboratory, testing samples for Salmonella and conducting general microbiology investigations. My role has given me strong technical skills, attention to detail, and experience working under strict quality standards. I currently work in a UKAS-accredited laboratory, where I carry out a wide range of microbiological testing and analysis. My responsibilities include testing samples for Salmonella and other bacteria, as well as performing core microbiology techniques such as plating, bacterial identification, and Gram staining. I also have experience running ELISAs, doing rapid plates agglutination tests, and conducting serological testing alongside Salmonella identification procedures.
In addition, I perform parasitology investigations, including worm egg counts. Part of my role also involves helping to train new members of staff in laboratory techniques and best practices, ensuring high standards are maintained across the team.
I hold a master’s degree in Infection and Immunity and a bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from the University of Chester. My studies provided a strong foundation in microbiological principles, laboratory techniques, and infection biology, equipping me with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills relevant to diagnostic and research laboratory work.
