I am a highly experienced and committed Senior Social Work Practitioner with 12 years of frontline and strategic experience working across children’s safeguarding, Looked After Children (LAC), unaccompanied asylum-seeking children (UASC), and assessment teams. I am passionate about achieving meaningful outcomes for vulnerable children and young people, and I bring a deep understanding of risk management, trauma-informed practice, and child-centred intervention.
Over the course of my career, I have developed a strong track record of working effectively with children and families in crisis, often in complex and high-risk situations. I have led on child protection investigations, care proceedings, and permanency planning, always ensuring that the voice of the child remains at the heart of practice. My work with UASC has given me significant experience in culturally sensitive practice, age assessments, and navigating immigration complexities while advocating for the rights and welfare of displaced children.
As a Senior Practitioner, I take pride in supporting and mentoring less experienced colleagues, contributing to a positive team culture, and upholding high standards in practice quality and professional conduct. I regularly provide reflective supervision, support decision-making in complex cases, and contribute to service improvement initiatives. I work collaboratively with multi-agency partners and am confident in leading professionals’ meetings, managing risk, and ensuring timely and effective interventions.
I am deeply committed to promoting anti-oppressive practice, safeguarding equality, and continuously developing both my own practice and that of the wider team. I believe that strong leadership, clear communication, and compassionate practice are key to delivering effective and ethical social work. As I continue in my role as a Senior Practitioner, I remain dedicated to advocating for children’s rights, strengthening families, and influencing positive systemic change.
