Care Home Activities Coordinator - The Cedars & Larches Care Home

The job involves maintaining a stimulating programme of leisure pursuits and social events for both groups of residents and on an individual basis, done weekly, ensuring that they are advertised within the home and consult with relatives and other staff members when writing social care plans. I regularly consult with and assess each resident in order to identify their social and recreational requirements according to their likes, dislikes, abilities and needs and organise social and recreational events both inside and outside of the home. I assist and support residents at meal times ensuring that the appropriate equipment is available and that the ambience is conducive to a relaxed environment.

I liaise with the senior person in charge on a daily basis and am required to build and maintain a suitable stock of social events and hobby equipment such as: craft materials, board games, jigsaws, cards, needlework, paints, etc.

The job involves ensuring that the customers are satisfied with their purchase, but most of all going that extra mile allowing customers to have a great stay. This role includes blowing up balloons, collecting condiments and dealing with customer complaints to the best of my ability.

• Checking stock of products and ensuring proper stock levels and rotation as well as checking equipment to ensure that it is in proper working order

My job involved serving customers on the cash desk, taking payments, folding and bagging products and processing exchanges. I also spend time working in the fitting rooms, helping and advising customers to ensure that products fit correctly, as well as working in the stockroom processing deliveries and picking products for replenishment onto the shop floor.
