I entered teaching wanting to make a positive difference to young, developing minds and I still want that after 30 years in the profession. Having had my own family and also fostering a teenager, I felt I had the patience, understanding, commitment and even sometimes the sense of humour needed to work with young people. My teaching history is diverse.

I have taught children in Mainstream Schools and in Special Educational Needs Schools and also, as a Private, full time tutor for a VIP family. Students I have taught have ranged between Primary age to Post 16 which has given me a great insight into where their journey begins and where they are expected to be during the different years of their educational development and milestones. I am also very aware of the many barriers that may hinder learning and this is where my real desire and passion to teach, brings out the best in me both personally and professionally.

I have recently passed my STA Level 2 Swimming Teacher Qualification so am now seeking to secure a part-time position using all of my experience, skills and knowledge to support participants of all ages and abilities, to become confident and competent swimmers, in a safe, welcoming and progressive environment following the Swim England, Learn to Swim Framework.

I delivered the IB MYP, IGCSE and EYP to a 13/14 year old and 4/5 year old student respectively. I was responsible for the planning, instruction and assessment of English Language, Math, Science, Visual Arts, Social Studies and English Literature. I was also responsible for a wider, bespoke, curriculum and out of school activities plus behaviour management and support to the parents, with any issues or barriers to learning, with regards to their children.
