About
I am a dedicated, compassionate and highly experienced Care Assistant with over 8 years of experience working in domiciliary care, hospital settings and complex care environments. I am passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care that promotes dignity, independence and wellbeing for elderly, vulnerable and complex care clients. I am currently working at Total Healthcare, where I support clients with complex healthcare needs in their own homes and within the community.
In this role, I have gained valuable experience in managing ketone readings for high blood glucose levels, monitoring sugar levels through Libre sensors, checking INR retests and updating anticoagulant clinics regarding Warfarin dosage adjustments. I also worked at Prestige Complex Care and Lilly Rose Healthcare, where I gained further experience supporting clients with complex physical and healthcare needs while working closely with healthcare professionals and families to provide safe and effective care. Earlier in my career, I worked as a Caregiver in Zimbabwe providing home-based care and support to elderly clients, assisting with daily living activities, medication administration and maintaining a safe and hygienic environment.
I also worked with ARK for Zimbabwe Family Planning Programme, supporting nurses with medication dispensing, infection prevention and control, clinical waste disposal and preparing medical supplies for outreach programmes. As a Nurse Assistant at Mater Dei Hospital, I assisted patients with personal hygiene, toileting, catheter care, bed making and mobility support. I was responsible for taking and recording vital signs including blood pressure, pulse and temperature while maintaining patient safety and safeguarding standards.
