I am writing to express my interest in part-time work within your organisation. I am an 18-year-old Mechanical Engineering undergraduate at the University of Aberdeen, and I am actively looking for flexible, part-time work that fits around my studies — including evenings, weekends, and night shifts.
Alongside my degree, I have hands-on experience in fast-paced, customer-facing environments. During my time as a Food and Beverage Assistant at the Hilton Aberdeen TECA, I regularly worked extended shifts across conferences, weddings, and large corporate events — setting up and breaking down banquet spaces, maintaining hygiene standards across multiple floors, and collaborating under genuine time pressure. I am comfortable on my feet for long hours and take pride in being reliable and adaptable.
I also bring practical skills from outside hospitality. I have operated live broadcast equipment as a Livestream Operator for St. Columba RC Church, diagnosing technical problems in real time. I hold an Emergency First Aid certificate at SCQF Level 6, and I have volunteered with Barnardo's, engaging confidently with members of the public in a charity fundraising setting.
I am a fast learner who takes new tasks seriously, whether that is following safety procedures, picking up physical work, or supporting a team under pressure. I am based in Aberdeen and available to start promptly. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss how I can contribute to your team.
