I am experienced in fault finding on complex building services, general plant, sites, and equipment to a high level of competence. I work excellently on my own initiative but consider myself to be an extremely effective team player.

Builder - Self Employed

• Working on small refurbishments through to installing services to large new developments
• Frequently working on tasks that demand high physical effort, such as at heights, in hot environments, in confined spaces and working outside in inclement weather
• Liaising appropriately with external Suppliers and Contractors, dealing with technical queries and requests for information
• Ensuring all essential services are maintained and compliant with statutory legislation
• Receiving, understanding and explaining complex technical instructions to other maintenance teams or colleagues
• Providing both written and oral reports to Team Leaders and Site Officers
• Working within approved safe systems of work and ensuring acceptable standards of productivity and workmanship are achieved
• Acting appropriately and conscientiously in environments that require additional awareness, for example schools or hospitals
• Undertaking weekly and quarterly validation testing where required
• Effectively using equipment demanding good eye/hand co-ordination
• Using a high degree of skill and dexterity when required to complete complex repairs to provide a robust safe service
• Working flexibly and adapting to complete essential maintenance and emergency repairs
• Safely working in the vicinity of asbestos products and dealing correctly with suspicious samples
• Always following policies and procedures

Site Operations & Maintenance - Dee Valley Water (Welsh Water)

(2001-01 - 2004-12)

• Operating and maintaining water and wastewater treatment works, including monitoring and controlling processes like filtration and aeration
• Performing planned and reactive maintenance on equipment, pumps, and other plant machinery
• Taking water and effluent samples, monitoring quality, and ensuring compliance with environmental permits and regulations
• Identifying and mitigating pollution risks from company assets and returning treated wastewater to the environment
• Adhering to company health and safety procedures and taking responsibility for personal and colleagues' safety
• Interacting with customers, resolving issues, and ensuring timely communication regarding service disruptions or activities
• Monitoring and managing the complex chemical and biological processes of water treatment
