Full Time Forklift Instructor/Examiner at 1st Advanced Training Services (2023-10 – Present)
Really wanted to get back into training so was really pleased when this opportunity came up. Brilliant company and people, we are part Budget Forktrucks Ltd who deal with Sales, Hire and Maintenance of the trucks. Sadly things have been very quiet over the last 6 to 8 months.
So much so that I am now on a Zero hour contract, not something the company did lightly, it was the only option as they said they didn't want to lose me. But unfortunately as I don't get a full week I can't afford to carry on with the Zero hour contract. Probably one of the hardest decisions I have made in years, lovely people, and I love my job, hopefully carry on with the Instructor/Examiner roll.
Warehouse Operations at Wessex International (2023-04 – 2023-08)
Mainly goods in receiving deliveries booking in and locating in the warehouse operating both counterbalance and Reach trucks, stock replenishment etc. I would also help out in other areas if needed, I really enjoyed my time at Wessex, it's a shame it came to an end so soon.
A.I.T.T. Fork Lift Instructor/Examiner at Self Employed (2022-01 – 2023-03)
Warehouse Operative at Herma UK Ltd (2020-06 – 2021-11)
My role at Herma is mainly unloading the lorry's checking and booking the goods in, locating the deliveries and putting away, organising the warehouse and replenishing locations for production. I also help out with the picking of orders if I have the time, and any other general warehouse duties I can help with.
Night Shift Operative at Asda Andover (2020-04 – 2020-06)
At Asda I worked nights picking customer orders, this was only going to be short term to get by until something in the warehouse line came up, and to get through the way things are right now. (Lock Down Etc.)
Assembly Operative at Hirtenberger Defence International Ltd (2019-08 – 2020-03)
A complete change of direction for me, I was there through an agency, my role consisted of assembling weapons and mortars, which meant working with explosives. As I said, a complete change for me, I would also get to see the test firing of the different mortars so really interesting. Sadly it came to an end due to the current situation.
Short Term Temp Positions at Various (2019-03 – 2019-08)
Although not ideally what I wanted to do, it suited me up until recently.
Warehouse Supervisor at Crescent Pharma Limited (2014-08 – 2019-02)
General warehouse duties including picking orders of pharmaceuticals, although my main role since moving to bigger premises in January 2015 has been goods in/out, as well as sorting of the racking and locations to accommodate goods in. I use a counter balance FLT and a Reach FLT on a daily basis. We have averaged about 15 to 20 containers a week for goods in, 700 plus pallets so quite a lot of my time is taken up with unloading, checking and putting away.
Goods out probably averages at about 40/50 pallets a day, so it's quite a task organising the racking and locations. I am also very proud to say that I am a Registered R.T.I.T.B Fork Lift Instructor/Examiner. Please note, I have a reference from my manager during my time at Crescent.
All my team and my manager have left, so there isn't really anyone left there that knew, or worked with me.
Warehouse Operative / Delivery Driver at Southern Medical Limited (2012-10 – 2014-08)
General warehouse duties including picking orders for the vans and carriers, loading and unloading deliveries and replenishing stock in warehouse.
July 2013 I have been a delivery driver for the company. But still keep on top of my warehouse duties if the run allows the time when I return. I have also trained a couple of the lads on the Flexi Fork Lift Truck. Feb 2014 returned to warehouse duties as a change in staff and increased work load meant the warehouse could not keep up with demand, therefore I was late leaving the warehouse.
