I am a highly motivated and inquisitive young professional, currently working as a Research Assistant for Cardiff University.
My key attributes include developing strong therapeutic relationships with individuals of all ages, excellent communication skills, and demonstrating professionalism when working with complex cases and sensitive material. I have a combination of applicable experiences which, in combination with completing a BSc and MSc, has strengthened my clinical practice and psychological theory research, including rigorous training in academic and report writing, data analysis and presentation. Through a combination of tenacious drive and invaluable experience, I hope to one day gain a place on a Clinical Psychology Doctorate.
I am currently working on the CONNECT digital study, which uses digital tools to predict relapses in adults with schizophrenia and psychosis.
I am helping with the identification and recruitment of participants in all phases of the study; undertaking protocol based psychological assessments; collecting and maintaining high quality, valid, reliable clinical activity and outcome data as well as appropriate statistical and data management information.
My role includes supporting and promoting patient and public involvement and to contribute and support research publications and presentations as required.
Assistant Psychologist The service user group ranges from three years old to early 20’s, with diagnoses of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
My role included completing ASD and ADHD reports using school feedback, completing school observations of the child, and proofreading assessment reports before they are sent to parents.
This role has helped me to gain specialised knowledge of report writing and psychological assessments.
