Eilidh Montgomery

I am a fluent (to native speaker level) Gaelic speaker with a 2:1 (honours) BA in Gaelic Language and Culture from the University of the Highlands and Islands. I taught on and off since graduating in 2013, and launched my own online business as a Gaelic tutor during lockdown.

I teach all ages and levels, from wanting full on instruction in the language to people just wanting to brush up on their reading.

I also teach Celtic Mythology as a separate subject through the medium of English. This subject slots nicely in with the Gaelic as an interest in the language usually sparks an interest in the myths and legends.

My family hail from France and the Highlands, I moved from the Isle of Skye to Edinburgh in 2016 where I currently still live.

I have worked on an off as a Gaelic teacher since graduation in 2013. I launched my own tutoring company in 2021 and have had regular students. I freelance with Lairg Learning Centre, delivering Zoom lessons in Gaelic Language, Introduction to Gaelic History and Culture, and Celtic Mythology.

I currently work in Administration for Maximus Inc since 2016
