Eirwen Nonis

Current assistant Head Teacher at a generic Special School. My main duties include day to day running of the school, curriculum, timetable, exams officer, data, CPD and transition lead.

Have worked in education since 2005. My career started in a mainstream setting as a science teacher. I got promoted to KS 3 leader of science within the mainstream school within a short period of time.

Knowing my forte was with children that required extra support I went to work in a Pupil Referral Unit here I quickly became the science lead. Due to relocation I moved to Staffordshire where I have worked in a generic special school since September 2015. Whilst at my current establishment I have covered the Deputy Head role and duties during maternity leave.

Along with annual updates in safeguarding I obtained a masters in Education Leadership and Management in June 2023 and currently undertaking a NPQH course with Best Practice Network.

My original degree is in Biology with QTS which was obtained in June 2005.
