I’m currently a first year sixth-form student interested in going into an accounting apprenticeship rather than university. I’m a strong minded individual with great ambitions for my future. I’ve always been interested in accounting/bookkeeping as I grew up in an agricultural community where the need for accountants and bookkeepers was prominent.

I have 11 GCSE’s grades ranging from B-A in all subjects including an A in science and B in both maths and numeracy, and while i’m not looking to continue into my second year of sixth form where I would receive my A levels, the AS levels I would be leaving with are all predicted B’s in this summers exams. For my GCSE options I chose Business, Geography and Art - I feel that my broad range of interests are a testament to my open mindedness and dedication to learning new skills in a workplace environment. For my A Level options I chose Law and Business ( + Welsh Baccalaureate which is a non optional subject) as I’m eager to learn as much as possible about such deep and interesting subjects to expand my knowledge and skills in subjects that will later benefit me in life.

This summer I’m hoping to go into a level 3 apprenticeship in accounting with my local college, build up my work experience, and then move onto a level 4 degree apprenticeship in the future. I have arranged for work experience in 2025 where I will be having a weeks work experience at Bettws Hall (one of the worlds leading shooting estates) in their financial department as I feel that getting experience in a multi million pound business will give me more insight into what is expected of me as an accountant, then I am hoping to gain experience from my cousin who works as an investment banker as I feel that more knowledge into jobs regarding money and figures will also teach me skills I could incorporate into my work, and lastly I am hoping to get experience from a bank such as HSBC to broaden my career options and knowledge.

Currently doing my AS Levels in Law and Business with predicted grades of a B
