About

I am a mature, hardworking and responsible individual. I have just finished my first year at Oatridge Agriculture College studying Advanced Certificate Horse Care, and I am moving onto my next course certHE Equine Science and Management. I am used to working to deadlines and strive for excellence in everything I do.

I volunteer at Thornton Rose Riding for the Disabled where I have developed my interpersonal skills by working closely with, not only the other volunteers and staff, but also the variety of disabled children and adults who are our clients. I am also very active in showing miniature Shetland ponies and this culminated 2 years ago with me being placed in my highly competitive class at the Royal Highland Show.

I currently volunteer with this charity and am involved in pony care duties as well as working directly with our clients to provide them with an enjoyable experience in a safe environment. I effectively support our clients with their balance, coordination, social skills, confidence and concentration. In turn, I have developed excellent communication skills and have developed a greater awareness of diversity in our society.

I am currently training to be a coach with this charity which has me organising client sessions and the work of other volunteers and this has enabled me to develop my organisational and problem-solving skills.
