Passionate netball player, dedicated boulderer, and fearless cold water swimmer | Committed volunteer | Ward-based pharmacy technician with 2 years of experience | 9 years in the pharmacy field | Balancing my love for sports with my drive to make a difference in healthcare and the community.
I currently work as a ward-based pharmacy technician in CNTW NHS pharmacy, where I also completed my qualification as a student pharmacy technician. I have completed my accuracy checking logs and I'm awaiting my assessment to become a checker. While training as a pharmacy technician and now that I have qualified I have worked on a range of different wards and services.
This included: male and female acute wards, regional affective disorder service, elderly wards, alcohol detox and the crisis team. I have been working in a pharmacy setting since I left school, working initially in a GP dispensary: learning on the job and gaining the relevant experience before transitioning to hospital pharmacy. Previously, I have worked in the community in several Boots pharmacies, allowing me to cope in a stressful, busy environment and learn how to prioritise work and time to meet the needs of our patients.
I have worked on my own and part of a large team, depending on the size of the store and staffing levels. As a Pharmacy Assistant at Boots, I was responsible for overseeing the daily workflow of the pharmacy. In these roles I have trained and provided support to colleagues new to working in a dispensary and were completing their
NVQ. I have carried out a variety of administrative, customer service, and dispensing duties to assist in the smooth running of a pharmacy.
I am a confident communicator with a friendly manner, who is able to provide excellent customer service and counselling skills as a main point of contact for patients. In my first job, working in a GP practice, I learned how to touch type, which is very useful when labelling prescriptions as well as writing up patient consultations. I have a lot of experience in primary and secondary care and the ability to deliver high-quality work to a deadline in a fast-paced environment.
