Placement student - Sheffield Hallam University - Gender Justice Hub - Sheffield

During my placement at the Gender Justice Hub, I developed compelling communication, teamwork, and organisational skills through a range of community-focused projects. I contributed to writing a magazine exploring domestic abuse within different communities and engaged with external professionals, including individuals working alongside the police and community organisations across Sheffield. I also helped organise a public event featuring guest speakers discussing gender justice issues around the world.
In addition, my group coordinated a period product donation drive, where we used social media and LinkedIn to successfully collect products for Menstruation Matters.

At Kennedys Commercial Law Job Simulation on Forage, I completed a job simulation involving commercial law and litigated claims for Kennedy's legal team, this involved reviewing and analysing communication documents, contracts, and force majeure clauses in various commercial claims and providing clear and effective communication in addressing legal claims over the phone with a client dealing with a possible medical negligence case.
Volunteer & Admin role - Mosque

Provided admin support for day-to-day operations of the mosque, including maintaining records managing correspondence and scheduling events and activities. Handled enquiries from community members in professional and respectful manners. Organised documentation and supported planning of religious and community events. Latham & Watkins Pro Bono Job Simulation on Forage. I completed a simulation focused on understanding the pro bono work Latham & Watkins takes on. This included researching and preparing advice on company incorporation as well as, preparing a memorandum on nonprofit legal structures.
Housing intern - Arches Housing

During my internship, I gained valuable experience into the social housing sector. I learnt about the process where homes are built or refurbished to make sure they are suitable for residents to live in. I understood the importance of making sure that customers are always satisfied within their homes.
I was able to gain insight to an office-based environment and interacting with new people which increased my self-confidence which I was also be able to gain confidence by performing a presentation at my time at Arches Housing. I was also able to deal with customers enquiries; meet residents in the community and make sure that the residents' issues are resolved.
