Duties include carrying out the following tasks on a day-to-day/weekly basis:
Tyres – Daily
- Processing orders and price quotes on a daily basis meeting KPI's
- Receiving orders based on invoicing and booking them in on EVO, BCA in-house system
- Issuing to the relevant parties and monitoring correct fitment of tyres
- Returning any excess stock and/or wrong fitment and/or spec tyres
- Keeping evidence of existing impress stocks and on a 6 monthly basis, returning any excess.
- Chasing up distributors in order to maintain and upkeep customer expectations in a timely

Stores
- Liaising with relevant bodyshop staff in order to meet KPI's in regards to consumables, specifically paint, dry consumables(sanding papers/discs etc), primers
- Processing orders on behalf of the bodyshop on a day-to-day basis respecting daily spending limits
- Ensuring that PPP (price per panel) and expenditure is within the optimum parameters as allocated by technical paint management. Working alongside supervisors and management in order to align the requirements between both KPI’s and monthly consumable spending.
- Overseeing and keeping track of any excess stock; as well as returning excess stock.
- Chasing relevant suppliers for consumables in order to meet deadlines set.
Admin / Miscellaneous tasks
Whenever required by refurb admins / management I carry out minimal vehicle inspections. I also go out of my way in order to accomplish any requests such as organising staff and prepping for check-ups, medical check ups, DVLA checks, etc. liaising with relevant in house departments.
Health & Safety
I am also a health and safety officer for the BCA Corby 3 site which involves the following tasks:
- Carrying out the weekly fire alarm test which occurs every Wednesday at 10:30AM which I subsequently log onto xCenta (our health and safety hub) at the end of each month, as directed.
- Carry out 6 monthly fire drills alongside management, which I subsequently log onto xCenta when due.
- Carry out weekly inspections of the first aid kits / eyewash stations and if needed I also process orders to replenish anything that might be missing from those.
- I carry out monthly PPE respiratory checks with the bodyshop paint line and whenever required, I supply the paint line with anything that HSE requires for their wellbeing, which I subsequently log onto xCenta.
- I carry out toolbox talks with the bodyshop staff in regards to any relevant procedures/rules that the management /
supervisors require me to do, as well as any HSE related issue that requires attention.
- I REVISE and monitor most of the weekly HSE walkthroughs, supporting relevant departments and working closely with the management in order to upkeep the wellbeing of the bodyshop on a weekly basis.
- I carry out chimney checks on a weekly basis which occur every Tuesday morning, ensuring that everything is okay.
- On a monthly basis, I do log and communicate to relevant parties stock levels within our bodyshop, specifically OIL
LEVEL readings which I subsequently communicate to the management for the month end.
- I carry out a PPE monthly audit, however on a weekly basis I do monitor that the staff wears the appropriate PPE.
- I also carry out a monthly Spillkit inspection, ensuring that we always have enough consumables to prevent any accidents / spills. I also log this onto xCenta, monthly.
- I carry out a spray booth maintenance sheet, which also includes monitoring and ensuring correct filter changes at the correct times, as well as housekeeping of the mixing rooms on a daily basis.
- I also log any incidents in our incidents book and subsequently report to management, logging any issue onto xCenta
.
- I carry out weekly walkthroughs and inspect bodyshop for any possible HSE irregularities.
Vehicle Parts A big part of my job is the "parts" section, which involves the following
- Upgrading vehicles for any parts required that have been missed by inspection whenever advised by management
- Processing and receiving in parts, correctly labelling and locating them, as well as issuing them to relevant parties
- Returning parts, liaising with distributors in regards to their collection.
- Always checking and monitoring a strict impress stock in order to reduce our cost and re-use as many of our "in stock"
parts as possible.
Alloy Prepper / Bumper Prepper / Vehicle Inspector

During this period I worked in several roles as detailed below:
Alloy Prepper
Working to produce high quality cosmetic wheel repairs (SMART Repairs).
- Loading and unloading wheel racks
- Washing and sandblasting alloys unloaded from wheel racks
- Keying up alloys using dry scotching method
- Ensuring all health & safety procedures are followed
- Carry out refurbishment of alloy wheels, using factory approved products and techniques
- DA Sanding
- Repair and filling of damaged wheels
- Preparing non diamond cut alloy wheels for repair and painting
- Preparing diamond cut alloy wheels for repair and painting
- Completing paperwork/admin/invoices
Bumper Prepper
Responsibility for preparing vehicle components in an efficient manner ensuring correct repair procedures are followed and to ensure the finished product is ready for painting.
- Bumper and trim repairs; welding plastic panels
- Completing small to medium panel repairs including small dents, scratches etc.
- Preparing vehicle components ready to be re-sprayed ensuring correct formulations, preparation methods,
application sequence, timing and material use
- Prioritising work efficiently to meet deadlines ensuring awareness of urgent vehicles and due out dates
- Clearly document all work performed ensuring that times are recorded accurately and within agreed time frames
- Application and flatting of fillers and stoppers
- Primer application to areas that need to be treated
- Identifying plastic repairs and refinishing
Yard Operative (Assured Group Ltd)
- Playing an important role in co-ordinating the on-site logistics and working proactively as part of a team.
- Carrying out basic vehicle movement and handling of the keys
- Electronically Log and remove any valuable items left in vehicle
- Be responsible for jump starting vehicles when needed
- Barcode all new vehicles on arrival and tag keys
- Using RUGGEAR scanners to scan, locate and direct all vehicle movements
- Carrying out basic vehicle checks as required and report findings to line manager
- Ensuring all vehicles are parked as per relevant customer standards
- Monitoring loose keys removed from vehicles and the safe storage of the key
- Checking and controlling use of Company property, i.e. trade plates, scanner equipment, yard plant etc. and report any defects
- Carrying out other Inbound/Dispatch operation duties as requested by the yard chain of command
Vehicle Inspector
- Being able to understand quality and identify defects in vehicle bodywork and paint.
- Carrying out vehicle inspections and recording any damage found on a computer programme (scratches, dents, scuffs etc.)
- Recording repair methods and costs according to customer requirements.
- Completing all inspections scheduled by the booking team where possible and informing the booking team if any inspections cannot be completed immediately
