Team Member at Inflata Nation (2022-03 – 2024-09)
During my time at Inflata Nation, I developed strong customer service, teamwork, and communication skills in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. I was responsible for supervising activity areas, enforcing safety rules, monitoring equipment, and ensuring guests had a safe and enjoyable experience. I also worked with food and beverages, preparing and serving items while maintaining high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety.
After a year, I took on supervisory responsibilities, supporting new team members, overseeing daily operations, handling customer queries and complaints, and ensuring smooth service during busy peak periods. This role required the ability to work efficiently under pressure, stay calm in challenging situations, and maintain a positive attitude while delivering excellent customer service.
Primary School Assistant / Reading Club Leader at Primary School (2022-09 – 2024-05)
As a Primary School Assistant, I supported teachers in delivering lessons and worked closely with pupils aged 7–9 to support their academic and personal development. I independently ran a weekly reading club for Year 3 and Year 4 students, planning engaging sessions to improve reading, comprehension, and confidence. I strictly followed safeguarding policies, ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and inclusion of all children at all times.
This role strengthened key transferable skills essential in any workplace, including communication, teamwork, leadership, organisation, responsibility, adaptability, and problem-solving. I developed patience and empathy while working with children of different abilities and backgrounds, and learned to manage time effectively while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail.
Family Services Volunteer at HMP Sudbury (2025-12 – Present)
As a Family Services volunteer at HMP Sudbury, I support the facilitation of family visits, helping to maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for prisoners and their families. My responsibilities include assisting with visitor check-ins, ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed, maintaining confidentiality, and supporting children and families during visits. This role requires professionalism, strong communication skills, emotional resilience, and the ability to remain calm in a secure and regulated environment.
Through this experience, I have developed a deeper understanding of rehabilitation, behaviour, and the importance of family relationships within the criminal justice system. My ongoing Forensic Psychology degree complements this role, providing theoretical knowledge of criminal behaviour, safeguarding, ethics, and offender rehabilitation, which I apply in a practical setting.
