Emily Duncan

I love animals. I like horse riding and spend a lot of time with my dogs. I have a regular dog trainer who supports me in the training of my young German Shepherd. I enjoy and value learning from him and like practicing the new training techniques I have been taught. I am a practical person who is dedicated to learning and applying new skills particularly when working with animals. I am constantly searching for new opportunities and qualifications to further my experience in animal care.

Since volunteering at paw prints doggy daycare, which also has a dog grooming room. I have developed an interest in dog grooming. And they allowed me to shadow one of their professional dog groomers to see if it was an interest that I wanted to pursue in to a career.

I did pursue in to dog grooming, I am employed currently at pets grooming. I have been working there now for over a year. I started as an assistant and worked my way up to a stylist.

I am very grateful for the opportunity for working and developing my skills there, but I knew that it is not something that I wanted to do long term.

As I am still very interested in becoming a veterinary nurse assistant and potentially if I get the opportunity to progress in becoming a veterinary nurse.

I am always inspired by the hard working vets and nurses in the clinics when I take my own animals to the vets. Their compassion and knowledge gives me an exciting urge to want to work hard To get the career that I have always wanted to do
