Emily Hepburn

I am a friendly, helpful, and kind person who enjoys communicating and working as part of a team. I completed Year 10 work experience as a teaching assistant and have also worked in hospitality, in a customer service role in Welshpool. I'm good with IT and able to pick up new skills quickly.

In three words, I would describe my strengths as curiosity, determination, and empathy.

TEACHING ASSISTANT (WORK EXPERIENCE) at ST. MARY'S PRIMARY SCHOOL, NEWTOWN (2022-07 – 2022-07)

• I worked in a Reception and Year One class. I supported the children through various learning activities and directed play, for example with Nessy and arts & crafts.
• During breaktimes I helped resolve disputes between some children in the upper years when on duty, and carried out any tasks that the teacher(s) wanted me to do, such as laminating and organising cupboards.
• I supported a girl in Year One, who had autism, as she struggled with certain tasks and with socialising.

RETAIL ASSISTANT (VOLUNTEER) at THE HOPE HOUSE, WELSHPOOL (2024-11 – 2024-12)

• I helped with stocking and organising the shelves. I presented clothing and other items in ways that made them most appealing to customers.

WAITRESS (PAID) at THE ROYAL OAK HOTEL, WELSHPOOL (2025-02 – 2025-08)

• I really liked working methodically, but also with and for people, which was rewarding and fun.
• I was responsible for taking orders, dealing with customers' individual requests, delivering customers their food, drinks, and the bill, and clearing/laying tables.
• As I grew up living with my grandparents, this factor aided me in talking to customers of all ages.
