I am a highly motivated, conscientious Social Care Assistant with experience working on a Male Acute ward and in Neuropsychiatry. I am also trained in DBT therapy where I was a Dialectical Behavioural Therapy Assistant for 3 years on a women’s EUPD/ eating disorder ward, providing compassionate care and support to both patients and carers. I have the ability to work under pressure and within a team, whilst able to use my own initiative.
I have great attention to detail and accuracy, have exceptional people skills, listening to others and have professional communication skills with patients, colleagues and community professional teams. I am able to follow instructions and procedure, a keen learner with so much more yet to give and the desire to push myself further in life. I am committed to increase my knowledge of treatments, and courses through hands on and studying, whilst being driven to deliver high-quality service and consistent results.
I have trained as a DBT Therapy Assistant and most recently as a Social Care Assistant. I have the ability to deliver DBT coping skills/ techniques to those in crisis, manage self harm behaviours in others by use of distraction techniques and help explore other coping mechanisms.
I have gained experience and knowledge of safeguarding and making referrals, completed child risk assessments including speaking with local MASH teams prior to child visits. I have regular communication with the community professional teams and carers, keeping them updated with patients progress. I have completed Adult Social Care referrals as well as accommodation referrals, supported for any financial needs and attend to weekly ward rounds and contributing to the discussions and discharge planning.
I have completed CPA reports as well as conducting discharge summaries.
Completed all online training in line with my job roles. Attended all face to face training sessions when offered in line with my job roles.
