Im a bubbly, caring, fun person, have been in care most of my life but have also worked in a hotel as a night receptionist which i loved, have had experience in working in a factory aswell as working for a meals on wheels service in Okehampton. In my years of care I have worked with residential, mental health, reablement, worked in a nursing home, looked after a paraplegic lady, used a peg feed tube and cathetar care and a letter board and cheek switch for the lady to communicate with us. I also worked in the community in Plymouth which was lovely so rewarding. I am very adaptable love learning new things and can pick up things easily, found working in the hotel my computer skills improved alot and loved meeting new people, have been told I am a very easy person to talk to and welcoming. I was happy to receive a top ten name mentions for our district as seen as we were the smallest of our hotels I feel thats a big achievement.
Working in a nursing home and residential home really helped me become the carer I am, love learning new things and in care you learn all the time. Working in the community was amazing felt even more rewarding then working in house.
Working for the meals on wheels was an amazing job i was able to care for the elderly in a different way which i loved.
Found that im able to work in any setting and be happy doing so and learning all the time to adjust to different settings, the hotel was a major change but loved every minute of it.
I passed my English, math's, science, food tech, child development with C grades
I have since achieved my NVQ3 in health and social care, I passed with a distinction
