Emma Nelthorpe

27 years old who likes to learn new things and skills as well as enjoying volunteering with my local Brownie unit and watching motorsports. Volunteering with a local Brownie unit, I work with girls aged 7-10 years. This unit is part of an organisation called Girlguiding where we empower girls to find their voice and to inspire them to discover the best in themselves and to make a positive difference in their community.

While volunteering with the unit, I have completed the Adult Leadership Qualification, which allows me to lead the weekly meetings with the girls doing fun activities as well as following the Brownie programme, making me an Assistant Leader in the unit. In the future, I would eventually like to become a leader for the Brownie unit or another unit. Outside of volunteering, I have a keen interest in motorsport.

I enjoy following Formula 1, F1 Academy, Formula 2 and Formula 3, as well as GT and endurance racing. I enjoy keeping up with the different championships and learning about the teams, drivers, cars and strategies involved in racing. I enjoy attending races as it allows me to enjoy the atmosphere of the race weekend as well as meet other people who have a similar interest as myself.

This has allowed me to make friends with people who also enjoy the sport as well as be more outgoing with people who have similar interests to myself.
