My name is Emma Peacock, I am a textile designer who specialises in Embroidery and Print. I recently earn my BA Hons Textile Design Degree from Nottingham Trent University; I had a wonderful time there developing my design skills and learning a wide range of techniques. Now that I have graduated, I'd love to work at a company who offers either print or embroidery job opportunities to further extend my skills and industry experience.
I'm a very passionate, motivated and hard working person, others would say I am a perfectionist due to my inner drive to complete everything I take on to the highest standard. My personal handwriting as a designer reflects my attention to detail. My favourite themes to design and draw from are a mixture of architecture and florals as these are subjects I can apply my creative talents to best.
I tend to lean towards brighter more saturated colours, feminine and elegant design. To challenge myself I once designed a brief which was based on a darker, gothic topic which really contrasts to my normal taste, however, was something I really enjoyed designing for. I like pushing myself out of my creative comfort zone which allows me to alter my handwriting to any brief given to me.
My specialist art medias include watercolour, acrylic, fine liner and pencil sketches. My specialist software’s include, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and PowerPoint.
I have done in total one month’s work experience at Oasis headquarters based in Shoreditch, London, June and August 2019. Here I joined the Textile Design team, helping with an array of tasks, some being, preparing colour and material packages for an important international industry trip, filling in linework designs with my own colour choices, designing clothing for childrenswear, trend research which I presented at a board meeting, and creating my own textile designs on Photoshop using a Wacom tablet. I gain so much experience working in industry from my time there and I thoroughly enjoyed each task given to me.
BA Hons Textile Design Degree at Nottingham Trent University, here learning all methods of textile production in first year, and then specialising in embroidery and print in second and third year.
