Hi, am Damien a 23-year-old game development student at the University of Sunderland with a deep passion for creating unique and immersive gaming experiences. Over the course of my studies and projects, I have honed my skills in designing and developing a variety of game styles and systems, including VR, PC, and console games.
Continuously developing advanced game systems and tools using Unity and C#, with a focus on creating scalable, modular, and maintainable code architectures. Designed and implemented scriptable object-based systems for modular data management and dynamic gameplay design. Developed AI frameworks using finite state machines (FSMs) and behaviour-driven logic to create responsive NPCs and enemies.
Built procedural generation systems for environments and levels (e.g., Domain Escape), emphasising replayability and system efficiency. Expanded expertise in VR and AR development, including interaction systems, spatial UI, and multiplayer functionality. Integrated backend services such as Firebase and Google Sign-In for authentication, player data, and cloud saves.
Experimented with multiplayer networking using Mirror and Unity Netcode to develop synchronised gameplay experiences. Explored performance optimisation, editor tool creation, and custom inspectors to streamline development workflows. Actively maintain a range of personal and collaborative projects on GitHub (some public, others with private access available upon request).
