My name is Ettore Crovini,
I'm from Italy and I have a Ph. DPh.D.. in chemistry from the University of St Andrews.
While my work has been focused on practical laboratory, I've also gained expertise in project management, and scientific writing. I've also learned much about scientific illustration, by designing several graphical abstracts and cover images.
I consider myself a determined and hard-working person, with an honest and friendly attitude and a willingness to take on tasks outside my comfort zone.
During my Ph.D. I worked for 4 years on the design, synthesis and characterization of new materials for OLEDs displays. My research led to several papers, and I was involved in the writing of two review articles. I also designed all my graphical abstracts and I have two published cover images (Small Science, Volume 1, Issue 12, 2100022, and Asian Journal of Organic Chemistry, Volume 9, Issue 9).
Now I am working in the R&D department of Quantum Science Ltd., where I'm helping develop new Quantum-Dots systems. On the side, I'm learning to use Blender to improve my scientific designer skills.
I’ve carried out my B.Sc. degree in Chemistry and my M.Sc. degree in Industrial Chemistry at the University of Parma (Italy). For my Master’s thesis project, I applied for an Erasmus scholarship, which allowed me to work for six months in Eindhoven, at TU/e, and this experience prompted me to look for a Ph.D. program abroad.
I was hired in the ITN TADFLife, part of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action, at the University of St Andrews and I recently obtained the Ph.D.
