Working at LUSH has given me the opportunity to engage with customers and deliver exceptional customer experiences through personalised consultation tailored to every individual needs. My role involves having strong product knowledge, confidently explain ingredients, benefits and ethical values to customers. I engage with visitors through hand on product demonstrations, upselling complementary items and offering samples to encourage new experiences.
Working in a fast-paced retail environment has strengthen my ability to stay organised and remain calm under pressure. I've assisted in opening the store, making sure it was tidy and ready for a busy retail day, as well as in closing the store, making sure it was prepared for the next day. We all worked as a team and collaborated to make sure every customer had a five-star experience.
Makeup artist - Christmas pantomime - MidKent College

As a key make-up artist for the Christmas pantomime, I designed and executed the full make-up look for the scarecrow. I completed patch test on all my actors to ensure their safety. I collaborated with my actors, discussing the character interpretations to further develop the final look.
During show days, I applied makeup in strict timeframes and kept my workspace streamlined and organised. I was a calm reassuring presence backstage and when another make-up artist was absence, I completed additional performers look. The year prior I was an assistant make-up artist, who shadowed the key artist and supported the preparation and application of the character make-up.
I then had the opportunity to the lead's actress Make-up independently, demonstrating my ability to take on greater responsibility and adapt to deliver quality work on short notice.
2nd Assistant Director - Independent Film Production

As 2nd Assistant Director, I supported the director in organizing the shooting schedule, communicating with the cast and crew, and ensuring that scenes were shot on schedule. Coordinating with the cast, ensuring that actors were in the right place at the right time. Liaised with the 1st Assistant Director, to relay messages to different departments, ensuring the set was ready for each shot.
Acted as a point of contact between the director, the 1st AD, the crew and the cast. Ensuring smooth communication and problem-solving to address any on-set issues that arose, ensuring that the production ran smoothly. Monitored the progress of the shoot against the schedule, identifying potential delays and working to mitigate them.
Managed timekeeping to ensure that the day's shooting schedule was adhered to, minimizing overtime and staying within budget. Supported the implementation of health and safety protocols on set, ensuring that all cast and crew followed guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. I also assisted the lead make-up artist in preparing a large cast for filming.

At Yuck Yard, I performed face painting, offering both set designs and custom creations based on children's requests, which required creativity and adaptability to create new looks on the spot. Speed and efficiency were essential to manage long queues effectively. I maintained a sanitary work environment, ensuring all face paint and equipment were clean while creating a positive and enjoyable experience for children of all ages.
I specialised in spooky designs and creating SFX realistic fake wounds using wax and fake blood, enhancing the children's pirate battle personas. Daily responsibilities included setting up and cleaning up our station, ensuring a smooth and hygienic operation throughout each event.
Lighting assistant - PROUD Performing Arts Company

I volunteer for a theatre company, which supports adults with learning disabilities, where I help them helping put on their shows. I played a vital role in enhancing the visual impact of their live performances. My responsibilities included lighting design support, equipment setup and maintenance, and operating the lighting control board.
The role requires collaboration, adaptability and flexibility. Within this role I have learnt technical proficiency, artistic sensibility, teamwork and communication, adaptability and problem-solving, attention to detail, time management and professionalism.
Charity Shop Assistant - Cancer Research UK

Working as a Charity Shop Assistant for Cancer Research UK, gave me hands on experience within a retail setting. I was responsible for organising, and labelling donated items, ensuring it ended up in the correct space on the shelves ready to sell. In addition, I operated the tills, handling cash and card transaction.
On the shop floor, I assisted customer in finding what they were looking for, answered any questions they had with a positive demeanour and ensuring ever customer felt welcome. Furthermore, I maintained the store by cleaning displays and organising merchandise. As a team we created a clean, welcoming environment that made a big difference to customers and ensured that everything ran smoothly for the staff.
All these activities helped me develop my skills in retail, customer service, and efficiency.
