I currently work in Newmarket at a community hospital.
I have been here for just under 2 years after moving from the acute. Since being in this setting I have with the assistance of the therapists set the gym back up and is now in full use on a daily basis. I also set up exercise groups which run on a Tuesday and a Thursday, helping to motivate and build confidence with our patients.
I love working with people and watching them grow in confidence and ability. I do have a passion for learning about Neuro injuries and how the brain can work with you or against you.
I have worked at West Suffolk hospital for 3 years and I really love working with patients. I enjoy learning new skills and I like to ask questions about anything I may not be sure of, this is the only way you will learn.
My favourite experience is when you see a patient initially and they are bed bound and when they leave your care they are walking with aids.
Sucha rewarding experience.
I undertook an evening course of Higher education for Health professions, this was a 1 year course meaning I finished it with the equivalent of 3 A-levels in Physiology and anatomy, Psychology and Sociology.
I achieved these grades whilst being a mum and working as a nursing assistant.
