I am a 16-year-old who is passionate about starting a career in hospitality and gaining experience in a busy, friendly working environment. Although I have found it difficult to get my first job, I have stayed determined and continue to apply for opportunities because I am eager to learn, develop my skills and prove what I can do. Throughout school, I attended a small provisional unit because I found mainstream education challenging.
I also beat the stereotype put on children like me who cant work in a mainstream environment and passed every single GCSE except one. This experience helped me become more understanding, patient and resilient, and taught me the importance of making people feel comfortable and included. I have also grown up in a supportive and understanding home, which has helped me become a caring, respectful and open-minded person.
I enjoy meeting new people, socialising and trying new opportunities, and I believe these qualities would suit hospitality well. I am hardworking, willing to learn and determined to make the most of any opportunity I am given. I would love the chance to build my confidence, gain valuable work experience and become part of a team.

Through this experience, I have learned to communicate respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds, listen without judgement, and recognise the importance of treating each person as an individual.
My involvement with Pride has strengthened my commitment to equality, respect, and providing compassionate customer care, helping me ensure that all people feel comfortable, supported, and valued.
Nursery Worker - Kids Planet Day Nurseries - Gedling, Nottinghamshire
(2025-12 - 2026-04)
My role in the nursery required good communication skills with children, parents and colleagues. Listening to any concerns and answering questions, part of this meant I had to adopt different communication methods. I was responsible for providing a welcoming and professional environment.
I had to follow care plans, policies and keep accurate records to ensure the children welfare was always considered. Safeguarding and Confidentiality was part of my learning and following policies and procedures. I worked closely with the team and under supervision taking direction when needed.
Sometimes I had to respond to unexpected situations and obtain support when needed.
