I'm a mechanical designer with a passion for creating technically innovative products that are intuitive, manufacturable for real user needs. With a background in cell and gene therapy instrumentation, automated machinery, and design consultancies, I thrive in bringing ideas to life from early-stage concepts through to prototyping, testing, and production.
I’m hands-on with CAD, prototyping, and design for manufacture, and I enjoy working closely with multidisciplinary teams and clients to solve complex problems with clarity and creativity.
Whether it's refining a user workflow, integrating sensors into a control system, or iterating a mechanism for better usability, I’m driven by the challenge of turning technical complexity into elegant, functional solutions.
I’m currently just under four years into my IMechE chartership journey and plan to apply for Chartered Engineer status in the very near future.
MicrofluidX (MFX), Stevenage
•Iteratively designed, manufactured and assembled automated test rigs to support T-cell growth, including precision control of feeding volumes and environmental conditions with a strong focus on user interaction.
•Managed the development of critical subsystems for the customer-facing cell therapy instrument.
•Optimised the mechanical design and usability of the bioreactor drive system for reliable automated feeding, agitation and gassing during cell culture.
•Collaborated with suppliers to produce DFM components across machined, sheet-metal, injection-moulded and 3D printed parts; accelerating design and iteration cycles.
•Proactively led user-centered and ergonomic design activities using 3D CAD and full scale foam board functional prototypes to validate mechanisms and user workflow with the internal biology team.
•Researched and evaluated cell therapy consumables, sterilisation constraints, and their impact on cell growth and the effect on the mechanical design of the product.
