I have undertaken work as a SEN/DSB support staff as well as a Teaching assistant at few Primary schools. The most recent experience I have is working with children with autism and language delay. In order to work effectively I had to clarify and explain instructions, providing sufficient structure to individuals to enhance classroom participation and foster independence.
I have a wider understanding of the different needs each SEND pupil has and have worked closely with the class teachers, speech and language therapist and SENCO. I have training in Child Protection, Behavioral Management, Clicker 6, Communicating in Print. Also training in Sensory Story Telling, Read write and Sensory Circuit.
I have the experience of working with children that have gastronomy tube and able to work with it. I also worked with children that have goldenhar syndrome which allows you to use a suction machine.
I am first aid trained and have the ability provide immediate assistance.
I also have some training in school office where I been receiving phone calls, recording absences and preparing paper work.
