My name is Faye and I am a student who studies psychology at Oxford Brookes University.
I have always enjoyed being around people and working with them which is why I have been working in the hospitality industry in the last five years or so. During my time in hospitality, it has given me the opportunity to be able to work well under pressure in a team environment.
This has developed my ability to meet the typical steps of service whilst being able to deliver positive guest service simultaneously with ease.

The fun, friendly, and upbeat atmosphere of The Red Lion made also developed my confidence in delivering a meaningful service, especially during high-paced periods.

Supervisor at GLUT (2023-09 – 2023-12)
Working here at GLUT has given me experience behind the bar. I would work on the floor and behind the bar. On the weekend I would often manage the floor staff as GLUT tends to fill up on the weekend and requires management to a degree.
GLUT has allowed me to enhance my ability to work under pressure in a busy environment and have also given me the experience to take charge when needed. I have also been given more responsibility, I often tend to the bar and manage the stock and maintain the cleanliness to a certain level. As GLUT is an independent business, on less busy days I would work alone which meant I had to take orders, serve food and drinks, clean tables and make drinks by myself; this has helped me to further develop my multi-tasking skills, which has enabled me to be more skilled on the floor.
Front of House Team Member at Dirty Bones (2022-09 – 2023-06)
Dirty Bones was a place that valued efficiency and effective customer service. This place allowed me to work on my multi-tasking skills; I had to be able to work well and give my best customer service whilst under pressure. I often worked on weekends when it was the busiest so we were expected to work quickly in taking orders, serving drinks and food, clearing tables and catering to our guests' needs and expectations.
We had a "steps of service" that we had to adhere to which included: asking for drinks, checking for allergies, check backs (seeing if everything is alright with the food), trying to upsell cocktails and dessert. Additionally, I worked during the Christmas period too where I had to tend to large tables (it ranged from 8-30) which has definitely given me more experience, especially when working under pressure. Furthermore, we had a review system called "Yumpingo" and I would often get the top reviews weekly as Dirty Bones really focused on guests' experience.

Working at Grounded Kitchen has increased my confidence in terms of food preparation and customer service. Working there mainly revolves around ensuring that we are able to serve customers their food without any delay through frequent food preparation and making sure that every customer leaves Grounded satisfied. Additionally, at Mcdonald's, I never got the chance to experience any opening or closing shits, and Grounded has given me that experience.
Crew Member at McDonald's (2021-10 – 2022-07)
During my time here at Mcdonald's, I have been taught how to give customers the best customer experience as customer experience is highly valued at Mcdonald's. I am well versed in both working in the kitchen and the front. As Mcdonald's is a very fast-paced environment, I believe that my problem-solving skills have vastly improved and that I am efficient and effective at doing the job that I am required to do.
