I am looking to start my career in the motorsport/motor vehicle industry. I have a Level 1 NVQ in Motor Vehicle Repair and Maintenance, and a Level 2 Diploma in Motorsport where I achieved a Distinction* grade. I am currently studying a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Motorsport.
I really enjoy working in a team environment, I consider myself to have very good communication skills, and love to help others wherever I can and make them feel included. I am a very organised and precise individual; I like to make sure everything I do is the best it can be, taking pride in keeping things looking nice and tidy. I listen to other people’s opinions and views, and respect them, as I believe this is very important when working in a team.
I am aware there may be times where I may have to put in extra work or hours to get the tasks done, which I am more than happy to do, as I always like to make sure I complete things to a high standard. I am willing to relocate to wherever in the country in order to work for the company.
I had an amazing opportunity to work with the W series in their Trainee Technician program for over 6 months, where I got to travel the world supporting several Formula 1 Grand Prixes.
My job role was a trainee race mechanic and I had to report to the number 1 mechanic and Chief Mechanic. My responsibilities were:
· Cleanliness and overall appearance of the race cars
· Preparing the cars
· Assisting with car setup and sub assembly
· Pre and after race checks
· Keeping the awning tidy and clean.
· Maintaining the pit and garage equipment
· Ensuring all assigned components of the race car were safely joined and bolted.
· Attending test and race weekends.
