I did my Registered General Nurse Training from 1986 to 1989 in Cardiff, Wales and then worked as a staff nurse on general medical, surgical and care of the elderly wards. I had two children and worked part time looking after the elderly in a nursing home. Busy bringing my children up, my nursing registration lapsed and I have worked as a carer in the community.
My most recent role has been as a carer for a lady with dementia, keeping her as independent as possible in her own home. My children are now in their twenties and I would like to work as a maternity support worker full time with a view to doing my midwifery training.
