I am reliable, enthusiastic, and hardworking. I enjoy contributing to a successful team and have developed excellent communication skills through my interest in sports, coaching, and customer-facing roles. I am flexible and enjoy dealing with different types of people during my working day.
I am approachable and confident when working independently, but equally, get satisfaction from working with others to reach a common goal. I have a willingness to learn, excellent organisational skills and experience of delivering customer service and taking responsibility. Due to family commitments I had to start work at 18 with very little consideration for what job I was doing, COVID and unfortunately being made redundant during the lockdown has presented me with a great opportunity to look at what I want to do as a career in the future.
Electrical Modification Technician at CAF Rail Services (2024-10 – Present)
CAF Rail Services are a Spanish company who specialise in improving and modernising existing train fleets by using new and sustainable technologies to extend lifespan, safety and increase reliability. During my time here I have been involved in all electrical tasks possible and have really gained a lot of knowledge and understanding of safety critical work and following instructions very precisely.
Electrical Fitter / Stripper at Gemini Rail Services (2024-01 – 2024-10)
Gemini Rail Services specialise in repair and maintenance of railway transport and equipment and have done so since 1910. My role at Gemini was to be an electrical fitter and stripper, this means I was involved in the stripping of all electrical components of the train including lights, sockets, electric doors and buttons, underfloor conduit, Cab back walls and various jobs within the drivers cab. I also gained experience on the wiring of electrical aux & fuse boxes and safety critical work.
On the fitting side I learnt how to put all electrical components back together to meet railway standard and safety regulations by carefully following wiring drawings and using my own knowledge of previous builds. During my time here I have also gained experience on the build side of things when working with the Vehicle Builders, removing and refitting battery boxes, coolant tanks, obstacle deflectors and almost all gangway / under carriage components and fixings. I enjoy learning as much as I can as often as possible.
Being very hands on and a quick learner has helped me to learn as I go and within weeks I was completing jobs from start to finish. Working as a contractor here has given me the opportunity to gain experience that I can use to take into a new role within the railway as I feel I'm ready for the next step of securing a permanent role within the industry.

Multi-skilled Operative at Mears LTD (2021-08 – 2022-07)
Mears Ltd is a housing and social care provider contracted by Milton Keynes Council to maintain and improve council properties which may be empty or have tenant occupants. I began this job at the start of August 2021 as a part of a government scheme to get back to work after COVID. This role appealed to me as I was keen to get in to a trade industry but was not sure which trade I wanted to pursue.
My job role is a multi-skilled operative which has meant I have been given the opportunity explore all trades within Mears by shadowing and labouring for a skilled team member.
Product Genius/Handover Specialist at Arnold Clark (2019-07 – 2020-08)
As a Handover Specialist, I was responsible for managing a client's customer service journey. This would begin at the point a client inquiry was received. I would coordinate the logistics of a vehicle the client was interested in, as it may not be at the local site.
I would organise this to be able to arrange vehicle test drives. I was required to have a good overview of the vehicles and the functionality of the car, and this was a broad knowledge base as Arnold Clark are not brand specific. I enjoyed interacting with clients.
When a sale was secured, I would walk the client through the documentation and Finance paperwork, taking payments, as necessary. The handover of a vehicle was a strict process, arranging appointments, checking adequate insurance was in place and that the anti-money laundering checks were complete. I was diligent in this process, ensuring all vehicle checks were complete and providing the client with as much information about the vehicle as possible.
If issues did arise, I was happy to deal with clients confidently and professionally. This would involve listening to the point or complaint and suggest solutions. This may include arranging repairs or fielding inquiries for further information.
By keeping the client informed with regular communication and updates, I was able to transform most issues into a positive outcome. As a team, we had a target for 25% of sales each month to provide a positive online review. We exceeded the goal and collectively achieved the target, receiving the bonus 7 of the 12 months the showroom was open before lockdown late March.
When the showroom was quiet, I took the initiative to learn other areas of the business. I particularly enjoyed helping in the Valet area, a more active role, and with an eye for detail, I got a sense of achievement from the process. Due to the impact of COVID-19 on the automotive industry, Arnold Clark needed to reduce the team to manage the business impact of the pandemic.
Consequently, I have faced redundancy in August 2020.
