CFR (Community First Responder) - The Welsh Ambulance Service
Although the role is a voluntary one as a first responder I am usually the first on scene after a 999 call. The experience I have gained during this work has been immeasurable giving me a valuable insight into the every day lives of the ambulance crew. I found that I am calm when under immense pressure and am able to learn new tasks easily

My work as a prison officer was demanding but varied, involving shift work and supporting prisoners' rehabilitation while maintaining prison security. No two days are the same, with duties ranging from keeping the peace and teaching new skills to counselling and assisting with substance recovery programs.
