I have just finished year 2 of Nottingham Trent University and enjoy activities such as ice-skating, gymnastics and rugby. I am adaptable and reliable from experience of expectations from previous work. I have studied Level 3 and Extended Level 3 diploma in the Uniformed Public Services as entrance to university and desire to work in the unformed services upon completion in forensic psychology.
I have travelled whilst at university to countries including Krakow, Berlin and Sri Lanka for work experience and optional cultural studying of psychology elsewhere in the world.
Since 16, I worked in a local pub until 31/03/24 due to the business closing. This began as a career in glass collecting to then bar tending when turning 18 and extra jobs such as bingo calling and food handling. In the business, I cash-handled, call handling and worked with others.
Seeing drunk and disorderly customers arguing and physically fighting was often due to the regularity of certain customers including younger ones and older ones. A few time, being the only member of staff on sight, I was expected to prevent it going further and stopping it as soon as possible.
I have completed work in areas of hairdressing and Girl Guides UK. From all of this, I have developed independence, communication, confidence and mental health well-being due to expectations and self progression.
From 2020 to 2022, I studied Level 3 and Extended Level 3 diploma in Uniformed Public Services where I learnt about the voluntary services and the ones required by law including police, fire, ambulance and prison services. Day visits to different facilities allowed upfront experience of how the roles work. Regularly completing the military fitness test and others such as a riot shield holding and seeing British Army used guns and being able to hold them.
Now, I have completed two years of university and beginning third in September. This is studying Psychology with Criminology at Nottingham Trent University including modules in managing justice, crime place and justice, HMPPS, Cognitive & Biological psychology and lifespan deviation. Student societies are an option and I chose to join the Psychology society and made choices for sporting opportunities in gymnastics and rugby.
