Wiseman AI assisted legacy analysis initiative

Wiseman is an AI engineering assistant built on GitHub Copilot Enterprise to support understanding, analysis and maintenance of IBM i insurance systems.

In use: technical Q&A and reusable knowledge held in Markdown notes, issues and CSV indexes. Defined investigation workflows cover Jira ticket pre-study, COBOL, CL, SQL, DDS and stored procedures, business-rule tracing, data flow and caller/callee dependencies. Established agent rules cover coding standards, source-file and line-number evidence, and instructions against changing protected repositories. These are instruction-level controls, not a claim of enforced read-only permissions. A five-layer study model structures requirements, business processes, technical components, testing impact and historical alternatives. Planned capabilities include independent review and auto-fix quality gates, historical Jira mining, knowledge validation, revision tracking and a separate business-facing assistant. Automated execution, production deployment and measured efficiency gains are not claimed.
