Gavin Masiga

My name is Gavin, and I am a dedicated and driven individual with a strong academic background and a passion for the sciences, particularly in the field of medicine. I am currently studying at Waldegrave Sixth Form, where I am predicted to achieve high A-Level grades in Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Prior to this, I attended The Green School for Boys, where I earned solid GCSE results.

My academic journey has been enriched by various extracurricular activities, including participation in the UCL Masterclass on Neuroscience, where I delved into the complexities of the human brain, further fueling my passion for science.

In addition to my academic pursuits, I have gained valuable work experience in various fields. I worked as a Sales Assistant at Clarks for two years, where I consistently exceeded performance targets and honed my customer service and sales skills. I also served as a bartender at Ascot Racecourse, where I provided exceptional service in a fast-paced, high-profile environment.

My interest in the medical field led me to undertake work experiences in the Cardiology department at Kingston Hospital and at Imperial College, where I deepened my understanding of patient care and medical research. These experiences have solidified my desire to pursue a career in medicine, with a focus on making a positive impact in the field.

Outside of academics and work experience, I am actively involved in sports and have represented my school and borough in various competitions. I competed in the National Junior Rowing Competition, placing in the top 6%, and have also represented Hounslow in athletics. These experiences have not only enhanced my physical fitness but also instilled in me the values of perseverance, teamwork, and dedication.

Additionally, I have been recognized for my achievements in engineering and public speaking, and I am proud to have been a finalist for a prestigious scholarship at Macquarie Bank. My journey so far has been shaped by a commitment to academic excellence, personal growth, and a desire to contribute meaningfully to my chosen field.
