I am Gayathri Mohankumar Ambramoli, born and brought up in India. I recently graduated in Neuropsychology from the University of Bristol. I currently work as a Teaching Assistant to Special education needs students at Teacher active.
I received research training with Dr.Rekha Wagani, Ph.D. while working on a ‘Study on Adjustment, Coping & Mental Health of Freshers’ Staying in Hostel’ , and with Dr.Debolina Roy, Ph.D. while writing an honours thesis on ‘The role of mindfulness in mitigating stress amongst young adults’during my undergrad. I was able to improve my observational skills and learn to characterise and define abstract descriptors into concrete variables through my thesis work with Dr.
Roy. I have worked for Dr.Roy Abraham ( Head of Dep. Of Psychiatry, President of World Association for Social Psychiatry, Paris (2016-19) , Secretary General of the World Psychiatric Association, Geneva (2014-2020) , President of the National Alliance for Mental Health, India ) at Pushpagiri Medical College, Kerala, India.
Also now I work as a SEN Teaching assistant at Teacher active where I get to provide physical and communication support using modes of communication appropriate to the child's individual needs and to provide communication support to enable full access to the curriculum and any extracurricular activities, e.g. lessons, assemblies, parents' evenings, reviews and visits.
