Provide comprehensive homelessness prevention and housing advice to individuals and families at risk of homelessness, exploring all available housing solutions and early intervention opportunities. Assess homelessness applications and make decisions in line with the Housing Act 1996, Homelessness Reduction Act 2017, relevant legislation, and case law. Work collaboratively with applicants, landlords, families, and partner agencies to resolve housing issues, prevent homelessness, and secure suitable accommodation.
Develop and implement Personalised Housing Plans, connecting applicants with appropriate support services including employment, education, health, probation, welfare, and substance misuse recovery. Deliver high-quality customer service, offer guidance on tenancy rights, occupation rights, welfare benefits, and housing options, and support applicants to sustain both existing and new accommodation. Arrange placements into temporary accommodation and private rented housing where appropriate, while ensuring all statutory duties are met within required timescales.
Undertake any additional duties commensurate with the responsibilities and level of the role.
