Family Support Worker - Family Support Service

I was a Family Support Worker for the Family Support Service (FSS) within Children's Services. It is a role that required me to have good time keeping skills, a professional but friendly manner and the proficiency to make connections and relationships with the families I support. I held between 6-8 cases at a time, and my main responsibility was to support them with issues they may have.

• Completing 1-1 work with the children/young people to support their needs
• Completing work with the parents/carers on parenting, budgeting or mental health
• Co-ordinating with other professionals working with the families
• Arranging team around the family meetings when necessary
• Ensuring all safeguarding policies and procedures were followed intently

Assistant Family Support Worker - Family Support Service

Working as Assistant Family Support Worker involved working with families to support them with struggles they may be having at home, to complete admin tasks using mainly Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word, to coordinate with other agencies and professionals where appropriate and to support my colleagues when needed. I started this role in the year of covid, because of this the role was remote for the first 12 months.
