I am a recent graduate from the University of Manchester, where I studied BA History with honours, and achieved a first.
I am currently working in a front of house role in the hospitality industry. The fast-paced, and sometimes high-pressure environment of my current role is one which requires adaptability. Furthermore, working within a team has required effective communication in order to ensure customers receive the best possible experience.
I have worked in various public-facing roles in the past. I completed a work experience placement with the National Trust, in which I had a variety of responsibilities. During this placement, my roles included documentation of the site's collections, working alongside volunteers in the onsite shop, as well as accompanying groups from local colleges as they learned about the site. I also assisted visitors with navigating and learning about the site.
I have also worked in several hospitality roles. The fast-paced nature of these roles has required me to think on my feet, and to be adaptable. Working both within a team, as well as with the general public, has enabled me to improve my communication skills, in order to ensure that customers have the best possible experience.
I have achieved a first class degree from the University of Manchester, where I studied BA History with Honours. During my time at university, I have studied a wide range of subjects which have explored political, cultural and social aspects of both UK and global society, both in a historical and a modern context.
In the summer of 2022 I spent time studying in Denmark, which was supported by the Turing fund, and during this time I explored Environmental Humanities and Global Justice at Aarhus University’s Summer University programme. This experience helped to broaden my understanding of a variety of issues facing the global community
