Georgia Stevens

I'm a first-class Masters of Physics grad from the University of Bristol. My degree had a particular emphasis on materials physics and metallurgy in the latter years. I have experience with Python and MatCalc, and I'm looking for work in a materials science area.

Professional experience includes working as a teaching assistant and providing 1:1 support work with children from heavily disadvantaged backgrounds. I am also a NTP tutor, providing maths and science tuition to GCSE students that have missed a large amount of education due to covid.

Obtained first-class honours Master in Science in Physics. Highest grades throughout the four years include 86% and 81% in materials physics and quantum physics respectively, 78% in solid state physics and 72% for my final year research project in materials science.

• MSci research project on the phase chemistry of steel under direction of Dr. Tomas L. Martin. Dissertation title: The phase-chemistry and micro-structure of pattern-welded steel. Primary focus was using materials engineering software (MatCalc) to simulate diffusion and precipitation kinetics in steel of varied carbon and alloying element composition. The microstructure of steel in different phases at different temperatures and the nucleation and growth of pseudo-phases such as martensite during the quenching process.
